per funk soul now - i like both mixes, but i think i'd probably play the original more. its a bit more driving. that said tho, the Recktchordz mix isn’ t too shabby at all.

Its the Rektchordz remix all the way for me, i'm a big fan of Rektchordz sound and this remix does not disappoint, its always interesting and building, the pick of the package for me, goes straight into the record bag for the weekend.
Also like the Run Riot remix of Pretty Bop, good use of the original elements and nice work on the percussion.

Yeah Feeling the original of Lady Packa Funk Soul, a really nice build on this tune & driving all the way to the end.

LADY PACKA “Funk Soul Now”
Out of the two tracks this is my preferred one as far as minimal Breaks go. I should say my favorite original track! There are some nice Goa feels to the samples like so this would go down well in a Barli set. It also boarders some acid feel and I felt out of the two should a solid flow with regards to the track movement. I do like them both though this one is a really gritty dark and has a more solid Groove! Nice one.
LADY PACKA” Funk Soul Now (REKTCHORDZ Remix)”
This Remix is my Favorite track on the whole EP. That does not mean it is the best since this is a personal preference to all whom hear. For me the flow is wonderful, the dirty bass is fabulous and there is respectful Warmth to the track that makes it less Digital in its whole form. For me this track must make the TOP 100 and I am confident it will be a good hit for VIM and REKTCHORDZ. It really is a wonderful track and one of the best to appear so far this year!!

LADY PACKA featuring ELISE5000 “Pretty Bop”
Indeed a nice minimal feel to the track and a cool concept. Took me a while to appreciate the tracks minimal feel, but indeed as the gorgeous little dark Synth arrives in good time. I enjoyed a lot of the tech spaced sounds that move in and out. If you’re a minimal fan then this track is for you. For me a set starter and build track to set the scene of you set or to add story and feel to your vibe. How long the track stays as far as a regularly played track would be interesting, short term I think the track will be used a lot…the question is will it stand the test of time! I hope so... ;-)
LADY PACKA featuring ELISE5000 “Pretty Bop (RUNRIOT Remix)”
Lovely drum drops and very slick groove in the initial start of the track. Used some excellent additional samples sparingly and made fantastic use of the original material! Indeed a Dance floor track and RUNRiot shows some solid composure skills and flow in his music. I also really enjoyed the funky feel to the track and indeed the clever change to the base and Phase just prior to mid way! I also respect that he used that Lovely Synth which for me make the track my FAV from Lady P!! In this case RUNRIOT added an additional funk factor with it and for that has my respect. ;-)

I like both versions of Funk Soul Now... Lady Packa's original is my favourite with its hypnotic groove, evolving patterns and acid crescendos, never in danger of going over the top but a good solid builder, nice one. But Rektchordz deserves a special mention for coming up with one of the *filthiest* sounding basslines of recent times. It's a cliche nowadays to call a track "sick" but man this one really does have a rare kind of nausea about it! Believe it or not, I mean that as a compliment ;)
Both mixes of Pretty Bop are heavy on the fat electro sound, and not the sort of thing I normally go for. But I find Runriot's mix irresistible... a combination of interesting rhythms, contrasting breakdowns, and just damn well doing something *different* to everyone else. Kudos.

It's been a while since my last review, but I'm back with a vengeance. Although the two original tunes on this release are just so-so, the RuN RiOT and Rektchordz remixes are absolute stormers. See details below...
Funk Soul Now (Original Mix)
This is Packa’s signature techy breaks through and through. Dark, deep, and rolling with some proggy synth stabs coming in midway through, "Funk Soul Now' in fact belies its title. A short but eerie breakdown that builds quickly into the track's dénouement--probably the neatest-sounding part of the track.
Funk Soul Now (Rektchordz Remix)
In keeping with the original’s theme, the Rektchordz remix is tech-breaks all the way. The buzzing bass stabs and thick breakbeat stand in artful contrast with the eerie synths and atmospherics of the original. This is less in-your-face compared to other Rektchordz tracks I've heard, but the bass alone should do wonders on the dancefloor in the wee hours of the night.
Pretty Bop feat. Elise 5000 (Original Mix)
The flip of Packa’s single maintains the dark mood established in “Funk Soul Now,” but this time it’s more straightforward 4/4. The Elise 5000 vocals are—shall we say?—provocative, as is the synth pad that sweeps in and out. Though we could do without the sparse and somewhat random vocals, the aforementioned pads are probably the best part of the track.
Pretty Bop feat. Elise 5000 (RuN RiOT Remix)
Tom RuN RiOT’s take on “Pretty Bop” is more aggressive, as you might have guessed. Is it 4/4? Is it breaks? It’s kinda hard to pin down—like most RuN RiOT tunes. Regardless, distorted bass accompanies the original track’s rolling percussion, and the vocals are used sparingly (thank you!). Between the reworked drums and squeaky synths added over the original pads, we feel a dash of funkiness here. DJs: the intro and outro are super-short, as per RuN RiOT's modus operandi, so be prepared to mix quickly, setup a loop, or make your own edit!n edit!
